Religion can be defined as the collective belief of some particular community and people who follow some religion spend their life according to the set of predefined rules of that religion. We are ready to die and one the same time ready to kill anyone for the sake of religion (or on the name of religion). People develop their lifestyle and culture according to their religion's preaching’s does not matter whether they are followers of Christianity, Muslim or Hinduism. Religion allows/forbids someone in their everyday life doings. It has strong influence on decision making, punishment and reward system for good and bad deeds, sets of fundamental things for everyday life things for spending life. Religion often says to accept the existence of God and do only those things which are allowed by God; this statement significantly has higher impact in adopting culture. As people who believe in existence of
God will always give high priority to the concerned religious persons and they will take care of everyday routine by keeping religious factor in mind. This also implies to choosing their life partner, as every religion has different parameters for marriage life.
There is a huge impact of religion on society; we can have a brief case study of those countries where religion is strictly followed. First of all we take the example of Saudi Arabia as a Muslim country. Non-Muslims are not allowed in 'Haram sharif' era. Women can't drive vehicles. Every shop is closed as soon as prayer time starts. It is quite clear that they are doing everything on the name of religion (whether they are right or not is a different debate). On the same end, Turkey is also considered as religious country but their way of life is totally in contrast to the Muslims of Saudi Arabia. They offer prayers and also fulfill other guidelines but they also talk about liberty and equality that is a rare case in Saudi Arabia. Two big Muslim countries have completely different culture having same religion. Economic factor can be possible reason behind it.
Another example is of India, where Hinduism is the most followed religion. Their everything from waking up to sleep is according to their religious beliefs. They have divided themselves on different categories from high to low on religious beliefs. Both mentioned countries are considered as the strict religion following countries and if we see deeply, even their dressing is according to religious guidelines. That gives us clear picture of the difference of every culture irrespective of their religion, whereas their basic beliefs are same but lifestyle is completely in contrast to other people.
It would not be wrong to say that pre-industrial societies was more strict in term of adopting their lifestyle/culture according to some religion and soon as we are moving towards post-industrial society, impact of religion is significantly decreasing with the passages of time. People are moving towards Atheism due to change of their perceptions from religious to scientific knowledge.
